Position: CNC Machine Operator
Location: Bloomington, IL 61704
Pay: $23–$27/hour
Contract: 13 Weeks

Key Job Duties
Read and interpret process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements, dimensions, setup, feeds, and speeds.
Mount workpieces between centers, in chucks, or in appropriate fixtures.
Start and operate one or more CNC machine tools according to production requirements.
Monitor numerical displays and compare machine data with process sheets to verify dimensions, feed rates, and cutting speeds.
Make necessary size and tooling offset adjustments.
Read and understand most G/M codes.
Inspect first-run pieces and perform spot checks on subsequent pieces to ensure specifications are met.
Complete first-article inspections accurately.
Complete low-complexity machine setups independently within the required timeframe.
Maintain a clean machine, floor, and work area and ensure the area is ready for the incoming shift.
Accurately complete time cards, process sheets, and tub cards.
Complete reject tags for first-shot/machine scrap and properly dispose of rejected material.
Review job packets and organize materials for the next production run during automatic machine cycles.
Best candidate profile: Someone who can set up and operate CNC equipment independently, read blueprints/process sheets, make tooling/offset changes, understand G/M codes, and perform first-article inspections without significant assistance.
Previous hands-on CNC machining experience required.
Ability to operate CNC machine tools independently.
Ability to complete low-complexity machine setups independently within the required timeframe.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, process sheets, and machining sketches.
Knowledge of dimensional specifications, feeds, speeds, and machining requirements.
Ability to make size and tooling offset adjustments.
Working knowledge of G/M codes.
Experience performing first-piece and first-article inspections.
Ability to use measuring/inspection equipment and perform quality checks.
Ability to accurately complete process sheets, time cards, tub cards, and reject tags.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Ability to work independently in a manufacturing/machining environment.
Willingness to work onsite in Bloomington, IL and attend an onsite interview.
Must be willing to work a 13-week contract with potential transition to permanent employment.
